AN ULRICH-ENGRAVED .44 (HENRY C.F.) 'MODEL 1866' LEVER-ACTION SADDLE-RING CARBINE BY WINCHESTER, NO. 36106

The 'Third Model' brass receiver , still has approx 15 % original silver, engraved with bold foliate-scrollwork on a stippled background, the right side-plate with vacant intricate inscription shield, the left side-plate with the National Coat of Arms of Mexico, the eagle and snake, the left side of lower tang stamped with "X" and "S", last four digits of serial number "6106" are found in the top tang channel of buttstock and inside toe of butt-plate, the figured stock with brass butt-plate and trap engraved en suite, ring and staple, the round barrel , showing 20 % orig. blue, mostly on undersides, engraved Winchester's-Repeating-Arms. New Haven. CT. King's-Improvement-Patented-March 29. 1866. October 16.1860 with full-length magazine-tube, blade foresight integral to barrel band and folding non-adjustable leaf rear-sight. Bore has very deep and clear rifling, excellent plus. Works perfect. 
20in. barrel. 
The highly figured one X stock has a period repair, way more visible in the pictures than in real. I can get this perfectly restored, but will only proceed on demand of the buyer.
