Smith Jennings second model rifle , winchester predecessor. Flayderman  P. 303, item 5K 004.5.  Approx 400 made. Front loading tubular cartridge (volcanic rocketball) under barrel.  Automatic pill magazine for priming this rocket ball ammu.

The rifle is complete included the priming system, works 100 %, rare to find one fo these and even rarer when complete, a lot got converted to single shot, since the ammo was hard to get.  In fact  Harace smith (from smith and Wesson, , Henry from  the Henry rifle, Winchester ( from th  Winchedsers) and Robbins and Lawrence helped  develop this rifle.  All starting their own career later.
This one is truly fine and all original having a factory engraved frame, and browned 26 inch barrel and magazine retaining most of the orig. browning.  stock is orig having a silver inlay.   The CP DIXON marking on left side of frame is sharp and untouched, mechanical 100 %, would be very hard to find a better one.  Serial 70, all matching.
