 Pair of French naval officer's flintlock pistols called "sea dog heads", on the model of the 1779 military pistols, round iron barrels, (the one with the lock on the left also has a signature on the barrel) caliber 14mm; left and right plates with round bodies, signed: “R. DUMAS À TULLE”, dogs with swan necks, brass fittings (the majority are made of iron), die-cut brass mouth guards; walnut stocks with short shafts, carved with a sea dogs head, iron rods; length 27cm. (A few bites). Period around 1780. Good condition.
