Josiah ELLS Unknown variation pocket percussion revolver, cal 31

This variation is not represented in the Flayderman (page 356-357) but is to be seen in te book American Percussion revolvers by sellers and Smith.

This one fits in between the 2cond and 3rd model.  The difference is the longer cylnder which has a rebate at the nipples, only seen on the first model, which has a round frame, instead a flat one as this one and a short cylinder.

This is also a deluxe variation having engraving ont the  frame and cylinder. These were often engraved but only on the frame.  The serial is 1,  to be found under the grips, . No other numbers present,

This one has a non standard , special order 3 1/2 inch barrel retaining a dark grey patina, . All engraving is very sharp. This revolver is 100 % complete, works perfect and in good condition, and probably the only one known in this caliber,    I have the matching one in cal .28, my item 11.
