William Raubs, NYC ss Schützen rifle 38-40 Remington cal

William Raubs, NYC ss Schützen rifle, no serial number, .38-40 Remington cal with 29” octagonal barrel, silver fore end cap, engraved in a Nimschke pattern and one of two known to exist - really nice looking overall

Barrel is signed W.RAUBS N.Y.  retaining 85 % of the blue.  The orignal sights are present, factory engraved,  stock has a cheekpiece for a right hand shooter.   Works perfect, , fitted with a set trigger.

PICTURED IN THE BOOK of the  late 'Bill Bird's collection of unusual single shot and a few percussion rifle that are mostly experimental types'. A small description of the individual rifles is included. ( I bought a part of the collection)
