Sharps model 1853 sporting rifle, cal 44.

Sharps model 1853 sporting rifle, cal 44. Flayderman P. 197, item 5F-011. 
Extra heavy short barrel of 62 cm (24 inch)is numbered to the gun.  So in fact this one is almost as short as a carbine, but is defenetely a rifle. This one was delivered in the white ( were made in the white - no finish-, browned or blued) , so normal that no finish  visible,  the easiest way to determine is to check the inside where there is no wear and tear, , if no finish at all present there , you can be sure that it was delivered in the white. 

The three line adress is perfect,a s is the bore.  The stock is outstanding, showing virtually no dings, has the original iron patchbox.  Fitted with a double trigger,which was an option, to be paid extra, as was the heavy barrel.  Long laddersight at the tang, and standard flip up sight on barrel.   Works perfect and seems hardly to been shot. Outstanding and rare  Sharps.
