1795 Springfield flintlock musket, converted to a carbine

1795 Springfield  flintlock musket, converted to a carbine , dated 1806, flayderman P 538/539 item 9A 005,

This is truly rare having the 1806 date, somewhere in it's life it got shortened to a carbine length fo 25 inch,

once in a while I see one, this one was probably used in the Mexican Us war , and probably by the mexican side. Probably shortened to be more usefull and easier to handle.
No info known about this one, except it has a brass placque with a name, Ejercito Cileno 1815.

It works fine, barrelarkings are there and the cleaningrod is present, it is missing a piece of wood  behind the lockplate, this gun is worthy to be restored.
Here is an affordable 1795/1806 that probably had a very interesting life.
