Early variation having only the marking ALLEN'S PATENT on the hammer,  and these are NOT  dated 1837 AND have the ALLEN THURBER  NORWICH C-T marking on the barrelrib, whichis of the wide variation, ,

6 inch barrelcluster with flat ribs,  serialnumber is 64. works perfect, orig. grips numbered to the gun and retaining most of the varnish. Pepperbox is medium grey and works fine.
